How time flies...

So my last entry was way back in July, but to my defense we have been busy with Kindergarten, soccer, swimming lessons, travel and gymnastics. Kade scored his first goal with about 1 game left to go, I was the only one to see it, but it was awesome! Tylar has been steadily improving at gymnastics and still loves to go. Mason is a busy, busy boy...walking everywhere and loves to get in the pots and pan lids and bring them to me with a big smile on his face because he knows he's not supposed to play with them (he drags them on the floor and I am afraid of it getting scratched) He is learning new stuff everyday...he is waving, clapping, talking jibberish, giving high fives, and his new favorite thing is to hand us or throw us books all day long so that we will read them to him :) Kade is in the advanced reading class in school and likes the challenges. Tylar has made really great friends at school and her best friend is Connor. Cody has been busy at practice and recruiting and season is only about 2 1/2 weeks away! I can't wait! I LOVE wrestling season! This year for Halloween, the kids are doing a Star Wars theme. Kade is a clone trooper, Tylar is Princess Leia, and Mason is Yoda. Should be fun :) Sorry, no new pictures to put on this entry, we are trying to figure out why my camera is not downloading any pictures on our computer - plus we really need a new computer bad! This one is from 2001. Hope everyone is doing well,
Sarah

A long time without Kade and Cody!

Hello everyone. I am writing today, 1. for bordem and 2. because it's been so long. June was a really fun month for me. I got to go to Philadelphia and hang out with KJ and Jessy Smith (old coach and old ISU teammate) and go to the gymnastics Olympic Trials - I even made TV!! Well, my arm did at least. I had a blast! Shopping, eating out, sleeping in, etc. etc. The rest of June was ISU wrestling camp, T-Ball and that's about it. July 4th was fun, we went to the parade with Kelly, Tate, Lindsey and Tim. Then, Cody and Kade left for a California camp and Utah. Kade only went to Utah. The two vans of ISU wrestlers took Kade on a 18-hour ride. He lost his first tooth while he was out there, something about a trampoline??? It was loose already, though :) Tylar, Mason and I left the same day to go to Wisconsin. We hung out in Hudson, went to family campout, went to Como Zoo and the beach. Did you know there is something out there that prevents people from getting sunburn?? I know, crazy, huh? Well, I didn't put any on and fried the bejeebers out of my back and shoulders, smart. Now we are back and out of bordem I am doing some projects in the living room and kitchen. I put in cabinet hardware, drapes, and a rug I got from Ikea. What a fun store! Today is Cody and my 9-year anniversary! I can't believe he's made it this far!!! He sent me a beautiful vase full of the most wonderful smelling flowers ever! what a sweetie! We are anxiously waiting for them to come home, everyday Tylar says she misses Kade and daddy. Mason is finally pulling himself up to a stand. He does "so big", waves, claps, and kisses. What a fun little guy we lucked out with. Almost makes me want to have another!!! Ha ha. I have said time and time again, if I could be assured Tylar would get a sister, I would have another baby in a second, but another boy sanderson, I don't think I could handle it!! Hee hee. Oh, we finally got cable. So now you can all come to visit and have something to watch :) Hope you are all having a wonderful summer!

Back from our trip!!

Wow, I am not good at this! I read other people's blogs who update it everyday...Ashley Cena, ha ha. Anyways, we are back from our amazing trip to Utah and Colorado. We started out with a 16-hour drive to Utah. Hmmm...fun? Not so much, but we made it. The kids got to go to preschool with Grandma Debbie and Mason, Cody and I stayed home during the day, so it was like a break, yee haw! I got two Ann Rule books read while I was there! Anyways, we took the kids to Chuckie Cheese, Sanderson Bbq, to see Grandpa Rex and Grandma Colleen, to the State Park to feed the geese, and to build-a-bear (their favorite thing!!) Kade made a monkey named "Sunsin" we have no idea how he came up with this, and Tylar made a pink and white bear named "Smiley". Then Cody, Cyler, Mason and I took off for a 6-hour drive to Telluride, CO while Kade and Tylar stayed back with Gma Debbie and Gpa Steve. The drive was beautiful and we stopped at the Arches to take some pictures. We pulled into Telluride at around 10 pm so we didn't get to see how beautiful it was until the next morning, wow! We were up in a house at about 7,000 feet, I think?? Anyways, the view was amazing with herds of elk, snow-covered mountains and a beautiful little town. We sat in the hot tub, watched a lot of HGTV, and visited the little villages around Telluride. When the kids got there, we went on the Gondola ride that they loved and drove to Ouray and went into their hot springs which was by far my favorite part of the trip! The kids did not want to leave!! Even Mason was thrilled the whole time :) Now we're back to normal after a week of getting ready for our garage sale - what a success!!! It feels good to have gotten rid of a lot of stuff we've just been hanging onto. My next projects are painting the bedrooms. Kade picked out "Shark Loop" and Tylar picked out "Lilac" of course they were helped :) Well, that's it for now...take care

Sorry it's been so long...

Wow, have these last few weeks been busy. First we traveled to the NCAA Wrestling Championships in St. Louis and had a great time. The team did a really good job. The had 7 All-Americans with Jake Varner placing the highest @ 2nd. Cyler is an All-American and placed 7th! The next week, I went to Oklahoma for the Big 12 Gymnastics meet with Kelli More. We drove about 8 hours there and back (but without kids, it went extremely fast!). We had a double bachelorette party with a limo, a double bridal shower, and the Big 12 meet. What a great weekend! I got to see a lot of old teammates that I haven't seen for about 8 years! Everyone is doing really well :) Iowa State looked like they were going to pull of the win in the last event, but Oklahoma's last girl up needed to score a 9.85 for them to win and she scored a 9.925. ISU was still really excited for how well they competed! Should be fun @ Regionals! Now, Debbie and Steve Sanderson are in town to move Cole back home to Utah. They also just wanted an excuse to come and see the kids! We are trying to figure out our schedule for this summer and sounds like it's going to be a crazy one! With camps and trips to Utah, Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin and possibly Las Vegas, are we ever going to be in Iowa??? Yes, because Kade is going to be playing his first year in Tee Ball and him and Tylar are both going to be taking swimming lessons, should be cute! Mason is just about crawling these days, so I am counting down my days of freedom, lol. Well, that's all I can think of, bye :) FYI - that is Nick Fanthorpe in the picture, he is our 133 pounder, we won that match for 7th place!

2008 Big 12 Champions!!

Big 12's were today and Kelly (Cael's wife) and I were firmly planted at our computers watching the live streaming. We would keep each other updated by texting if one was busy with the kids or what not. It was ALMOST a perfect day with 4 champions, two 2nd places, two 3rd places and one wild-card into the NCAA Championships. Cyler is a Big 12 Champ! Everyone wrestled great! All 10 guys get to go!!! And we are the Big 12 Champions!!! Wish I could have been there, but I have to admit it was nice being able to watch it at home with my kids actually happy and not have to drive 9 hours! Last night I had a dream that Mason got his first tooth and today I checked and he did have a bottom tooth poke through - weird! Ta ta until another day.
